The Sound of Change
Did you hear that? The howling tunes of Florence Welch, the R&B rhythm of Rita Ora or the pop energy of Jessie J? Those, ladies, are the unforgettable sounds of enlightenment, of support, and of change.
With an impressive star-studded line up, the show was nothing short of spectacular as some of the biggest names in music and entertainment came together to incite social consciousness of women’s issues in an extravagant display of advocacy.
The concert really did prove that ‘Girls Run the World’ as beloved girl-power icons such as Madonna, J.Lo, and Mary J. Blige built up the crowd into a feverish rally of feminine mystique at the threshold of Beyoncé’s headlining performance.
Among the larger than life ladies taking the stage at what felt like the world’s largest bachelorette party, there was still some room for a few great men to croon the cause. Timbaland and John Legend grooved along side their leading ladies with sensational poise. And of course Jay-Z teamed up with his Queen B to bring this world an amazing power couple performance!
The presenters were no less remarkable. Along with leading activists and campaigners for women’s rights from around the world, Salma Hayek-Pinault, Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Freida Pinto, James Franco, Jessica Chastain, Jada Pinkett-Smith, and Zoe Saldana all graced the stage in support of their fellow woman.
Star of the show, Beyoncé, rocked the stage like only a Wonder Woman could. Belting a string of her hit singles from “Single Ladies” to “Halo”, her performance spoke volumes, inspiring us and sweeping us off our feet faster than you could say Belieber.
At the show’s close, Beyoncé coolly walked off the stage to the crowd’s empowered chant of “Chime for Change”, and that my little chickadees, is music to our ears.
